The System Clinical Nutrition Director will have responsibilities that includes: final selection and approval of all Clinical Nutrition staff based on required job standards and competencies, review and approve nutrition Diet manual updates and approve education materials prior to final approval by the Center's Patient Education Department, and develop tube feeding formulary with healthcare team with final approval from the Center's Nutrition Committee and oversees compliance outlined in clinical nutrition policies and hospital policies. Oversees work of the contracted Registered Dietician staff in terms of their productivity, clinical care and outcomes as well as clinical documentation and compliance with billing processes and organizational goal setting. Will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising competency of the operations of the Nutrition Services staff at University Hospital (UH) and its article 28 clinics. Primary responsibilities include assigning work to and supervising clinical competency of the dietitians; developing standards of care based on evidence-based professional standards and monitoring of clinical dietetic performance and productivity and payroll; reviewing and updating policies and procedures; implementing and maintaining cost control procedures; supporting recruiting, approving the final hiring, and orientation of staff dietitians; positively interacting with hospital management and professional staff promoting excellence in service and clinical evidence based professional standards for nutritional care. Will have compliance oversight to ensure food service operations are in compliance with clinical expectations and contractual requirements especially as it relates to standardized recipes and timely food, nourishments and floor stock delivery standards impacting clinical nutritional care. Responsible for reporting on department quality to Nutrition Committee and other hospital committees as needed.
