• Reviews Pathologists written report and assigns an ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Enters codes into Co-Path laboratory or Epic billing system. 
• Adding modifiers as needed.
• Ability to ICD 10 code ~35 reports/hour.
• Code variety of Pathology specialties including:
  • Surgical Pathology
  • Clinical Pathology
  • Hematopathology
  • Renal Pathology
  • Molecular Pathology
  • Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine
  • Dermatopathology
  • Neuropathology
  • Consultations
• Assists in identifying solutions to reduce back-end billing errors. Assists in resolving billing errors as required.
• Works with Billing Manager as needed when documentation is not clear.
• Keeps current with coding guidelines by self-study, education, coding compliance plan and additional education as outlined by manager.
• Participates in internal and external quality meetings as necessary and responds to corrective action as necessary.

High school degree and AAPC/CPC certification with 1-2 years medical billing experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess the ability to properly code pathology reports. Meet or exceed the established quality standard of 95% accuracy rate while meeting and/or exceeding production standard.

1-2 years of experience preferred. Pathology coding experience preferred
