SUNY Upstate Medical University (Syracuse, NY) seeks Data Analyst, Hospital Strategy Office (TH Staff Associate) to be responsible for reporting, analysis and visualization to support SUNY Upstate. Provide analytical support to rapidly respond to new growth and partnership opportunities inclusive of market competition, population demographics, payer mix, volumes/utilization rates, revenue and other appropriate data. Assist with analysis and visualization of data in a fast-paced environment. Key items for this role also include working on predictive analytics and advanced visualization and analysis for requests that come through the Hospital Strategy Office. Work on key projects related to quality improvement, reporting and performance management and business development initiatives to be presented to organization leadership. Serve as the lead analyst for requests for data and analysis pertaining to the impact on Upstate University Hospital operations and strategy (staffing, resources, room utilization, market analysis). Develop key clinical and financial indicators to be shared with senior hospital leadership, division chiefs and medical directors; and assist with the upkeep and development of clinical and financial reports to assist operational leaders in planning, resource allocation and quality management. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management/Information Science, with 3 years of progressive data analysis experience, including: working knowledge of SPSS, SAS, R or other statistical analysis; proficiency in Business Objects; experience with multiple data sources (clinical, financial, payer, administrative, and survey and working with large-scale data sets); and demonstrated proficiency with Tableau or other dashboard programs and SQL.
