Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care to patients/families and the community. Accomplishes this by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care and supervising the work of the licensed practical nurses, ancillary staff and students assigned to the unit.
Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.  Candidates with less than one year of post licensure acute care nursing experience who possess a license or eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS will be considered for appointment to a Nurse 1 position. Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. 6-12 months of RN experience preferred for this position, however, new-to-practice nurses will also be considered. This position actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must possess strong leadership, computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. The Registered Nurse will assess and identify patient health status, establish a plan of care, implement and evaluate the card provided as well as integrating patient and family education into the delivery of care. Professional Ambulatory care nurses facilitate continuity of care, nursing triage, interdisciplinary colloboration and coordination of health services and community resources. The RN will perform telephone triage, coordinate patient care, assist with complex procedures, hospital admissions, review and follow up with patient labwork results and studies. This position will also supervise, coordinate and evaluate care provided by LPN's and unlicensed assistive personnel. The RN will assist non-licensed staff with medical record preparation, filing and online appointment scheduling. Prepare/chaperone patients for provider examinations. Assist with preparing and maintaining examination rooms and departmental supplies. 

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, days flexible shift hours

Salary Range/Pay Rate:

Commensurate with Qualifications, based on acute care experience.
