Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing diagnostic and pharmacologic treatment and psychotherapy services to students. Will provide psychiatric services to students through the Student Counseling Service (SCS), including 1) diagnostic assessment/intake; 2) consultation concerning psychiatric medications; 3) ongoing medication management; 4) individual psychotherapy and 5) crisis assessment and intervention.

This individual will also provide outreach/preventative programming for students and assist SCS directors to explore and develop new partnerships and opportunities to better support students engaged in distant educational activities. The individual may provide clinical supervision/oversight of psychiatry residents who provide medication management services to students through SCS.


Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP required.  Masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner and current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required.  A minimum of one year of experience providing psychiatric services to young adults or students in a higher education setting is required.  Current CPR Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Individuals with five or more years' experience providing psychiatric consultation and medication management to adults, prior experience treating graduate and/or medical students, prior experience working with individuals from diverse and/or marginalized backgrounds, and at least two years' experience providing individual psychotherapy are preferred.

Work Days:

Monday -Friday hours to be determined.
