Job Summary: Provide clerical support to outpatient clinical area. Duties include: patient registration, check-in and check-out process, greet patients , check demographic information and generates encounters and other required paperwork. Notify staff of patient arrival. Make additional appointments as ordered, place orders for testing, and check paperwork for completeness. Review need for referrals authorizations, pre-authorizations and/or obtains information that may be requested by other staff to assure acquisition of these documents. Obtains additional records, reports, e-rays, etc. as needed for providers or other staff. Manage electronic billing for charge entry, obtaining additional or specific info as needed for coding by appropriate staff. Use computer systems, CAIS, Epic, Word, GroupWise, Chart Maxx, etc. Initiate any required insurance carrier regulatory needs such as ABN's or waivers of liability and forward to appropriate staff for completion and/or discussion with patients. Reschedule patients and contact patients, as needed, for continuity of care. Participation in tracking of missing diagnosis and missing charge reports as reported by statistical reports generated from various computer systems used in patient processes. Use all pertinent office equipment such as copiers, fax, shredders, scanners, etc. Assist with mail distribution and other tasks as assigned by leadership. 
Minimum Qualifications:

Two years secretarial/clerical experience required. Ability to multi-task and strong customer service skills necessary.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an ambulatory care setting, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc), and experience with Medical Data Base systems for patient registration and scheduling preferred.
