Manages and coordinates all administrative support activities for the Department of Neurology Fellowship programs under the guidance of the Education Administrator and Program Directors for each fellowship program. Assists the Education Administrator by providing support to the Neurology Residency Training Program. Interprets and applies ACGME, other national accrediting agencies and hospital policy to support program compliance. Provides support to residents/fellows. Acts as a liaison between residents/fellows and hospital administration when necessary. Establishes relationships and acts as a liaison to other hospitals, internal departments and divisions regarding resident recruitment, orientation, program affiliation agreements and external rotations. Tracks reports, ensures compliance for trainees with regard to board exam requirements, licensing, moonlighting, annual appointments. Proctoring in service examinations for trainees and other duties as required for the education programs.
Manages the department's Neuroscience Grand Rounds Conference under the direction of the conference director. This includes scheduling conferences, obtaining all information needed from speakers and guests, interacting with the University's CME office, submitting all requisitions for processing and payment, and tracking conference attendance. Other duties will be added as necessary.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This position requires excellent analytical skills. Some knowledge of education software such as Black board, MedHub etc.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Education or a related field plus two (2) or more years of experience in the administration of educational programs. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be considered for the education requirements.
Prior administrative experience in an academic setting preferred.
