Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Associate will join a long-time NIH-funded (currently NIH R35 MIRA), highly interactive team studying cell migration in cancer progression and development with a focus on the paxillin/Hic-5 family of focal adhesion, molecular scaffold proteins, using 2D and 3D extracellular matrix model systems in combination with sophisticated confocal and super resolution imaging approaches. Several projects are available including, but not limited to: Hic-5 regulation of the 3D tumor stromal matrix organization in breast cancer progression, Hic-5 regulation of vimentin-actin cytoskeleton organization and cross-talk, paxillin regulation of cell polarity and microtubule acetylation in cell motility and tissue organization (see http://www.upstate.edu/cdb/education/faculty-profile.php?empID=turnerce for additional information). The successful applicant will design and implement independent research experiments of the highest quality and scientific rigor, using cell culture, biochemical and molecular approaches, mouse knockout models, quantitative live cell and fixed cell imaging. They will analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts for publication and presentation at national meetings. The individual should be highly motivated, detail-orientated, well-organized and comfortable working both in a team and independently.
Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree or equivalent and relevant laboratory experience in a related field of cell biology or biochemistry with a demonstrated track record of quality scientific publications.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in cell adhesion signaling, cell motility, the cytoskeleton or mouse knockout approaches desirable.
Work Days:

Monday-Friday; some evening or weekend hours may be required based on lab needs.
