Job Summary: Responsibilities include: Provision of clinical assessment and psychotherapeutic intervention; documentation of clinical services provided; responding to inquiries from students, faculty and staff; scheduling; communication with co-directors of Student Counseling Services/periodic staff meeting attendance in Syracuse.
The mental health professional in this position will provide ongoing individual clinical psychotherapy/mental health counseling to medical students rotating at the Binghamton Clinical Campus. This will include initial assessment of the student's presenting concerns and diagnosis (if appropriate) and communication with the student concerning treatment recommendations. This individual will also provide referrals for students who prefer referral off-campus for services and consult with Upstate faculty and staff about student mental health issues as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:

PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with one year of relevant student counseling experience preferred. NYS licensed as a psychologist required.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with one year of relevant student counseling experience preferred. NYS licensed as a psychologist required. The ideal candidate must have a strong interest and experience in working with students.

Work Days:

Flexible-Available Mon-Thurs between 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
