Job Summary:

Must demonstrate speed without compromising accuracy. Fills medication orders and substitutes generic or alternate brand of drug based on approved practices. Working knowledge of more than 2000 drug entities including brand, generic, and chemical names is required in order to do this. Computer Order Entry of medication orders for verification. Prepares, stores, and maintains inventory. Handles Controlled substances. Utilize several information systems and interact with services, providers, patients and family members while documenting call activity using information systems. When needed the technician will provide one stop resolution demonstrating excellent customer service and problem solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

National pharmacy technician certification in good standing and 1 year of pharmacy experience with either an Associates or higher degree in a science/health related field; OR Two years of pharmacy tech or aide experience in the capacity of a non-certified pharmacy technician or pharmacy aide and Successful attainment of national pharmacy technician certification within 18 months of hire; OR Successful completion of a military or other accredited pharmacy technician training program and National pharmacy technician certification in good standing or successful attainment of certification within 18 months of hire.

Work Days:

Rotating schedule; 10 hrs on weekdays; 5 hrs on weekends; some holidays

Commensurate with Qualifications
