Job Summary: Responsible for the operations of the Clinical Engineering department including budget planning and expenditure management; department staffing; department policy and procedure development, review and revision; department quality management; department compliance with all applicable rules, codes and standards; and interdepartmental process communication and management as required to support the hospital mission. Essential duties and responsibilities include: hiring, scheduling and supervision of staff; scheduling of daily work and management of overall departmental priorities to meet institutional demands; assessment of staff competency; planning and implementation of staff training; oversight of daily purchasing, shipping and receiving activity; budget planning and monitoring of expenditures to maintain budget; participation in ongoing quality improvement related to daily operation. The overall responsibility is to ensure that medical equipment is properly installed and maintained in safe working condition and that work flow is managed to ensure the hospital meets institutional and regulatory requirements and standards. Responsibilities also include management of the computerized medical equipment maintenance system with regular database review and information integrity management; regular review and reporting on department activity including equipment and work history and staff performance.  
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and five years of relevant technical experience (preferably in a hospital/healthcare setting), previous supervisory experience, excellent written/oral communication, time management, and organizational skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous clinical engineering management preferred. Masters degree preferred.
