Job Summary: Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory and maintaining patient records. Fill medication orders and substitute generic or alternate brand of drug based on approved practices. Computer order entry of medication orders for verification. Prepare, store, and maintain inventory. Handle controlled substances. Utilize several information systems and interact with service providers, patients and family members while documenting call activity using information systems. When needed, the technician will be required to deliver medications to patients at their bedside prior to hospital discharge. 
Minimum Qualifications:

National Pharmacy Technician certification in good standing and 1 year of retail pharmacy experience with either an Associates or higher degree in a science/health related field; OR two years of pharmacy tech or aide experience in the capacity of a non-certified pharmacy technician or pharmacy aide and successful attainment of National Pharmacy Technician certification within 18 months of hire; OR successful completion of a military or other accredited pharmacy technician training program and National Pharmacy Technician certification in good standing or successful attainment within 18 months of hire. Computer skills including: Excel, Word and other basic programs. Ability to work independently.
