Job Summary:

Seeking a highly motivated manager to be responsible for all administrative, operational, financial and human resource functions of the medical practice plan and development, in conjunction with physicians, of long-range practice strategies. Requires extensive knowledge of the health field and applicable laws, regulations and developments; excellent communication skills and significant business/community contacts; ability to continually adapt to a changing environment.

Partner with Department Chair to develop, implement and monitor short-term and long-term strategic plans. Oversee operational and administrative staff, department programs, processes, and all activities related to the key mission areas of the medical practice plan and University. Applies proactive approach to department affairs, and presents data and intelligence to Chair, physician leaders and staff to improve decision making and financial results. Utilizes national databases and organizations to formulate and adjust responsible income distribution formulas consistent with university and department guidelines. Represents Department and Chair in various University, Hospital and Community functions. Coordinates faculty and non-faculty recruitment activities such as onboarding, training, evaluation, and other personnel support. Responsible for creation of annual budget and annual report. Develops, negotiates and analyzes contracts with hospitals and community organizations and provides recommendations to Chair and department leaders. Works with practice plan administration, university and private legal counsel, Dean's office, accounts payable/receivable, and department finance and other administrative teams. Acts as a security and compliance officer for audits and oversight of all privacy, security, and compliance policies. Coordinates data system and EMR upgrades as well as oversees other IT projects. Maintains knowledge of insurance contracts. Communicates with billing and coding teams to review patient billing statistics and resolve issues. Maintains knowledge of CPT and ICD coding in Emergency Medicine. Maintains knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid payment policies. Prepares and delivers lectures to residents on practice management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 6 years experience in business or health care administration, preferably in an academic medical practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree preferred.

Monday - Friday, daytime hours
