Job Summary: The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned nursing area(s) in order to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care and to manage the environment in which care is given. The Assistant Nurse Manager prioritizes tasks for nursing staff, deals with staffing issues and problems, assists with goals, planning, customer service, standards, certification and accreditation, administrative and budget management, personnel resource management, communication, and quality activities. Ensures adherence to hospital or department and university policies and to nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing required. NYS Licensed/Registered Nurse (or eligible)required. Two years of post-licensure acute care experience (preferably in specialty area) required. CPR-BLS successfully completed before hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Nursing Leadership certification strongly preferred. Other specialty based certifications for nursing leadership (i.e. CCRN, CEN) are also encouraged and supported. Prior leadership experience preferred.
Work Days:

Night shift. Monday-Friday
