Job Summary: Provide leadership, professional expertise, and direction in the planning and execution of high quality events and functions for the Upstate Cancer Center. Responsible for all social media and coordination of web development for the Cancer Center. In addition, this position oversees the Arts Program, Music Program, beneath the surFACE, Meditation Center, Resource Center, fund-raising events, Volunteers, Colleges Against Cancer, newsletter and other patient related events that are sponsored by and/or take place in the Upstate Cancer Center. Develop relationships within community organizations in an effort to develop new cancer center program activities for patients and sponsorships. Responsible for oversight of the Cancer Center Atrium including Meditation Room and Resource Room to ensure a positive patient experience. This includes working with managers of the departments, volunteers, valet and parking service; as well as, interaction with patients and staff. Responsible for the development and management of a calendar of events for patients in the community and at the Cancer Center. This position will work closely with Marketing, Educational Communications and the Upstate Foundation.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and two years of experience or Associates degree and four years of experience (preferably in events planning/program development). Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, interpersonal, customer service, and computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory/management experience is strongly preferred.
