Job Summary: The Sustainability Manager is responsible for creating an enterprise culture of sustainability by creating the communication, education, and inspiration that encourages sustainable thinking by all employees. Manages and leads sustainability programs and initiatives for all Upstate locations, including the development and implementation of corporate sustainability policies and procedures. Partners with the management and employee Sustainability Sub-groups to identify sustainable opportunities with the goal of increasing economic value, raising awareness/adoption and improving the environmental impact within our daily operations. Job activities include, but not limited to:
-Works with the Sustainability leadership to develop and manage a long-term sustainability strategy within Upstate.
-Creates and implements corporate sustainability policies and procedures.
-Fosters a culture of sustainability through employee engagement and leadership
-Identifies KPIs in sustainability (resource utilization and waste) and provides reporting and analysis to recommend changes.
-Creates and facilitates training sessions and educational materials.
-Develops best practices including social media and company communication devices to promote a culture of sustainability.
-Researches and recommends initiatives by developing business plans to support budgeting, plans for implementation and evaluation metrics.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field and minimum of 3 years of relevant sustainability experience, to include experience implementing sustainability practices in a professional setting and managing employee engagement programs.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in development and implementation of policies and procedures desired. Strong knowledge of sustainability standards, practices and programs, ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines, strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, high degree of initiative and independent judgement with strong relationship building, ability to present to corporate organization as well as effectively communicate and work side by side with operations preferred.
Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8am-5:00pm
