Job Summary: Using excellent customer service skills and knowledge of hospital policy and procedures, responsible for the day shift day-to-day oversight of the 3 emergency locations (downtown adult, downtown pediatrics and ED at Community). Assist with the development of guidelines for staff assignments and rotations, evaluate effectiveness and modify work activities of staff as needed. Emergency Department registration operations including ensuring appropriate staffing (24/7), approval of time off requests and time sheet completion. Monitor and evaluate registration data quality and provide feedback and education to registration staff. Using tact and diplomacy, often under stressful conditions, will act as first line of contact for patients and families. Will provide guidance and support to staff and facilitate open lines of communication with staff, the health care team, patients and families.               
Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and three years of relevant health care experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) (or eligible) required. **Candidates who do not currently possess CHAA will be given a temporary appointment and will be required to obtain certification within 1 year of appointment. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse patient populations in a stressful environment required. Prior supervisory required.
