Job Summary:

Respond to calls for service within the hospital and campus.

Patrol the hospital and campus buildings and grounds.

Assist University Police as needed.

Screen individuals coming into the hospital and campus buildings for ID's, in the Emergency Departments they will screen for prohibited items.

Issue employee, visitor and vendor passes in accordance with the institution's policy and procedures.

Conduct personal safety escorts, fire watches, door unlocks/lockups.

Prepares written reports of shift activities, including actions taken to report or resolve incidents or problems. Document lost and found items and conduct investigations to determine owner or location of lost item(s).

Operate a patrol vehicle to assist in patrol or security incident response activities including enforcing parking regulations on campus.

Can be assigned to other special details, tasks and assignments based on departmental needs.

Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications:

Currently accepting applications for Provisional appointment. To be considered for provisional appointment, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

You must be currently registered as a Security Guard by the New York State Department of State. 

Registration for other governing or issuing agencies or institutions will not be accepted. 

Important: If you do not have and maintain current New York State Security Guard registration, you do not qualify for appointment to this title.

Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's license.
