Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider will serve as a Full Time Specialist to provide care to patients primarily at the SUNY Upstate campus, but also at the Community campus, if needed.  The specialist will work in a float capacity to help provide high-quality, safe, evidenced-based patient care to the various services covered by the Advanced Practice Services department who are in need of additional coverage by an Advanced Practice Provider.  Services may include: medicine, various surgical subspecialties, neurology, preadmission testing, addiction medicine, and acute pain service.  Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.
Minimum Qualifications:

 

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. CPR Certification required at the time of appointment.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of inpatient experience preferred.
Work Days:

: Monday-Friday Days, with Rotation to Weekends & Holidays
