Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Licensed Practical Nurse, (The Patient Care Specialist) will be responsible for providing nursing care and symptom management to cancer patients, monitoring side effects of and tolerance to toxicities of radiation and reporting patient responses to treatment. This includes the clinical nursing component of establishing a plan of care, directing patient care, patient education, serving as a patient advocate, and documentation of nursing interventions and outcomes.

Additional responsibilities of this position include the triage, scheduling and insurance authorization for any necessary diagnostic images in preparation of radiation treatment.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered LPN. Current BLS-CPR certification required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Oncology experience is preferred.
Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
