Job Summary:

Dr. Viczian’s lab is seeking a seeking highly motivated and creative individual with a PhD to work in finding underlying causes of retinal vascular disease using standard retina tissue isolation, molecular and cell biological techniques, as well as genetic and biochemical approaches.. The incumbent should have experience in vascular biology and mouse genetics, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The lab uses a transgenic mouse model of human retinal vascular disease. The lab is studying the T-box transcription factor, Tbx3, and its role in forming the neuro-vascular unit. The project investigates the cellular and molecular mechanism of Tbx3 in 1) retinal ganglion cells, 2) astrocytes, and 3) endothelial cells.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD that includes vascular biology or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in mouse genetics.  Self-motivated and optimistic candidates are encouraged to apply.
