Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Clinical & Student Placement Coordinator will be hospital-based and focused on managing student placements for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across the SUNY Upstate system.

The  primary objective of this role is to secure placements for our students while also collaborating with multiple external programs.  You will work in collaboration with Medical Staff Office, Contracts Office, Clinical Departments/Designees, and APP preceptors to foster a smooth experience for NPPA students and preceptors. This role has a large emphasis on administrative duties and will also serve in a clinical capacity. 

As an APP, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program).

Current NYS Licensure or Registration as a NP or PA.

Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. 

Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

3+ years of experience as an NP or PA required.

Excellent communication, organization and computer skills with proficiency and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with coordination of large interdisciplinary teams.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, with protracted hours based on operational need.
