Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly motivated Advance Practice Provider Manager to join Upstate Advanced Practice Service Team whose role will have  a primary emphasis on administrative duties with a portion of their time dedicated to providing direct clinical care.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with a team of Advanced Practice Providers across Inpatient, Ambulatory, Offsite locations as well as working collaboratively with the entire interdisciplinary team. 
  • Responsible for performance and professional development, recruitment & onboarding, quality improvement initiatives, billing & fiscal responsibilities, establishing strategic objective/operational criteria with teams.
  • Providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care
  • Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.

As an APP, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
  • Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. 
  • Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
  • CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
  • Excellent written/oral communication, organizational & interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers and other individuals.
  • 1-2 years demonstrated leadership experience
  • 2+ years Advance Practice experience. 
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Leadership experience. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel Teams and Powerpoint.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday with protracted hours based on operational need.
