Job Summary:
The Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will work to reduce the burden of injury of diverse populations utilizing evidence-informed programming. The Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will prioritizes injury prevention work based on trends identified in the burn registry and local epidemiological data, while building partnerships with community organizations supporting injury prevention efforts. The Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will also raise the burn center's visibility through engaging media outreach and community burn education, and will fosters collaborative working relationships within the community for ongoing fire and burn prevention and education. Collaborate with partners in the community and public health agencies, schools, pre-hospital EMS providers, Fire and Police agencies and other healthcare professionals throughout the region.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN or NYS certified (or eligible) EMT or Paramedic required. Associates degree in a health related field & 4 years of health-related experience or a Bachelors in a health related field & 2 years of health-related experience required.
CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment. *Will also consider candidates who are not a RN or EMT/Paramedic but have an Associates degree in a health related field & 4 years of health-related experience or a Bachelors in a health related field & 2 years of health-related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating events, teaching, supervising others, and evidence-based programming preferred. Experience with fire and prevention education. Master's degree preferred.
