Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Service Line Administrator will help create and operationalize a cardiovascular service line and develop the plan for the Heart and Vascular Center. They will have overarching authority for administrative operations for the cardiovascular services provided within the SUNY Upstate System, including inpatient services at the University Hospital Downtown and Community Campuses and all hospital ambulatory locations. To ensure efficient and effective quality service provision, this individual will drive strategic planning and execute initiatives in conjunction with the Chairs of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, Hospital Leadership, Nursing, and others programmatically relevant (Anesthesiology, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, and PM&R).  Utilizing extensive knowledge of underlying cardiac and vascular service requirements and benchmarks, this leader will identify national industry and regional market changes to inform key stakeholders of regulatory, financial, and programmatic developments which impact the service division. This administrator will execute the strategic vision for high-quality patient care services that are aligned with optimal financial performance. Using sound, independent judgment, they will develop system policy and support essential decision-making to direct the operational structure and program service delivery models in a changing landscape, ensuring all strategic partners are engaged, aligned, and included in the process. 

Minimum Qualifications:

– A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing Administration, or a related field. 

– A minimum of 5-7 years of service line experience, including operational functions within an academic medical center, complex tertiary hospital, or health system. 

– A demonstrated record of implementing and managing quality tools and standards across cardiovascular care is required. The candidate must have proven success in leading quality programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience in heart and vascular services.

Work Days: 

Monday-Friday and other times as required.
