Job Summary:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate didactic courses, ensuring alignment with program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as an Academic Advisor and Capstone Project Advisor, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
  • Participate in student recruitment and admissions activities, contributing to the selection of qualified candidates. 
  •  Evaluate student performance during OSCEs, assessing competencies such as clinical history taking, physical examination, diagnostic reasoning, patient communication, and professionalism.
  • Engage in the program's continuous self-assessment and annual review processes, including the revision of program policies, academic standards, and behavioral standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the learning environment and ensure the program meets the evolving needs of the healthcare community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a closely related field
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Valid New York State Physician Assistant license or eligibility for licensure
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience in a higher education setting, particularly within a Physician Assistant program
  • Experience in curriculum development and familiarity with accreditation standards
  • Commitment to interprofessional education and serving diverse, underserved communities
  • Primary care clinical experience
  • Experience with student assessment and remediation
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard)
  • Engagement in scholarly activities relevant to the PA profession
  • Active involvement in professional organizations related to Physician Assistant education
