Job Summary:
The Clinical Director of Nutritional Services plans, schedules, coordinates, and supervises the work operations of the Nutrition Services staff in University Hospital System (UH).
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assigns work and supervises Clinical Dietitians
- Develops standards and monitors clinical dietetic performance
- Reviews and updates policies and procedures
- Implements and maintains cost control procedures
- Supports recruiting, makes final decision on hiring, and orients staff
- Interacts with hospital management and professional staff and maintains professional competency and skills required for professional practice
- Manages UUP state union Clinical Dietitians and liaison in department for Food Service Contract
- Responsible for reporting on department quality to Nutrition Committee and other hospital committees as needed
- Reviews and approves nutrition diet manual updates and approves education materials prior to final approval by the Center's Patient Education department
- Develops tube feeding formulary with healthcare team with final approval from the Center's Nutrition Committee and oversees compliance outlined in clinical nutrition policies and hospital policies
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian (RDN) with active registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required. NYS Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) or eligible required. Masters degree in Nutrition or related healthcare or business field required. A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian required. Prior leadership experience in a healthcare related field required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nutrition-related research experience preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator certification preferred. Experience with EPIC desirable. Excellent public speaking experience, presentation skills, professional writing experience, and budget management oversight experience preferred. Prior outpatient nutrition counseling experience and experience with medical nutritional billing processes and regulations preferred. Certified Nutrition Support Clinician preferred - certification must be from ASPEN Nutrition Support/National Board for Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC).
Work Days:
Monday-Fridays, days with on call weekend support
