Job Summary:

The Data Governance Coordinator will contribute to the expansion of Upstate's data governance program and its associated initiatives, including the implementation and maintenance of a data catalog, enhancement of data quality and reporting content certification processes, and collaboration with developers and business users from across the organization to improve the overall accessibility and value of Upstate's data. Additionally, this role will ensure that proper safeguards are in place to adhere to data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, IRB), including determinations around permissions to sensitive information. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and managing project plans, facilitating workgroup and committee meetings, implementing software solutions, developing and disseminating data governance-related documentation, monitoring adherence to policies and standards, identifying and acting upon opportunities for process improvements, and engaging with the Upstate community to promote data governance practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, information systems, analytics and/or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, information systems, analytics and/or project management. Data governance experience, preferably in a higher education and/or healthcare setting. Experience with data catalog implementation and/or project management is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clear and concise writing skills and the ability to effectively facilitate meetings among multidisciplinary groups.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM
