Job Summary:

The Data Scientist will join the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences team to enhance research projects focusing on vision restoration and neural decoding. The role requires leading the development and maintenance of robust backend systems for data processing and managing microservices using Django. The candidate will be responsible for orchestrating data extraction and cleaning processes to ensure data integrity, as well as conditioning AI models for advanced predictive analytics. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to influence strategic decisions in ongoing research projects and the application of neural network-based models for improving experimental accuracy are key aspects of the position. The candidate will also oversee the development of data management frameworks, ensuring data accessibility and integrity for informed decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Data Science or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience in data science and machine learning, with a focus on advanced data processing, AI model development, and statistical analysis. Proficiency in Python, Django, Docker, and various data engineering tools such as AWS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. Experience in managing backend systems, curating data extraction processes, and implementing neural networks and AI models. Strong background in conducting data analysis, developing predictive analytics, and improving operational efficiency in business and research environments.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday; Some evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate lab activities
