Job Summary:

The Distribution Inventory Control Specialist is a support position assigned to the Distribution department within Supply Chain Management. This individual is responsible for maintaining two separate distribution department inventories at the Downtown and Community campus with over 3,500 items and a value of over $3,000,000.00 and also responsible for replenishment of supplies in support of patient care areas within Upstate.
Duties include, but not limited to:
-Manage, control, order, and monitor all aspects of Central Distribution's inventories for both UH and CH
-Conduct periodic cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory
-Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies
-Analyze inventory reports and order patterns to adjust Reorder Point/PAR levels
-Identify and optimize common inventory items to reduce SKUs in partnership with Value Analysis
-Coordinate emergent orders with Hospital Purchasing buyers
-Manage expiring products
-Support process improvement activities within Supply Chain
-Communicate with department managers on inventory availability, product inflow and outflow, and issues
-Maintain/Establish metrics around processes to measure improvements and illustrate trends

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and four years of relevant experience with inventory control/management or a Bachelors degree and two years of relevant experience with inventory control/management required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills required. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook and Excel). Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred. Experience with procurement, logistics, ERP systems, project management, and process improvement preferred. Previous experience within a healthcare environment, NYS procurement rules, and with Lawson is highly desirable.

Work Days:

Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
