            Job Summary:
The Family Birth Center at the Upstate Community Campus is looking for a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider to care for Neonates at the time of birth.  Our APPs are integral team members in supporting low risk and complicated deliveries.
In addition to 21 postpartum couplet rooms, there is a 6 bed Level I Nursery for newborns requiring additional short-term medical care and support.   Our APPs provide 24-hour availability of neonatal resuscitation.  Additional responsibilities include care for babies in the extra care nursery, NRP education and responding to all baby emergencies as they arise.  Our APPs also promote and support all initiatives for Baby Friendly Designation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care,
 
- Assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services.
 
- Maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program).
NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. 
NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
NRP certification required. 
Neonatal experience as an APP.
Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances. 
Work Days:
Per Diem, 12 hour shifts, combination days and nights, 7 days per week.
