Job Summary:
The Hospital Patient Service Clerk 2 for the Pediatric Adolescent Center (UPAC) is responsible for performing a wide range of routine
and complex clerical functions, including but not limited to: standardized patient check in/check out procedures, including
(patient pre-registration, registration, and discharge), processing incoming referrals, medical records support, scanning documents into
EMR and coordinating complex scheduling across multiple specialties (Primary Care, Adolescent Medicine, Integrated
Behavioral Health, Autism screening clinic, and Enhanced Clinic). Answers phones, gathers complete and accurate information,
performs data entry, and appropriately escalates complex or sensitive calls. Manages fax communications, incoming/outgoing mail, and
general administrative tasks, including preparing correspondence, patient letters, patient packets, data entry, and maintaining medical
records.
Minimum Qualifications:
The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Hospital Patient Services Clerk 2 title.

NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer

Promotional:
You must be a qualified employee of the State University of New York and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 or as a Nursing Station Clerk 1
Or
Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:
Two years of full-time clerical experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time secretarial experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time patient care experience in a health care setting

Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00PM
