Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Team Leader will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and support to the Radiology Outpatient Scheduling department. The Team Lead will participate in the employment process to include recruitment, hiring, disciplinary processes, and evaluation of employees under purview. The Team Lead will participate in all related Scheduling Center duties, including providing guidance and support to staff as needed. Facilitates open lines of communication with staff, managers, technologists, nursing, Radiologists, ordering physicians, anesthesiologists, patients and families. Clearly defines scheduling parameters to ensure proper application and distribution across modalities. Keeps scheduling documents current with new procedures and updates to current procedures, as necessary. Create and upkeep scheduling templates for all Interventional Radiology resources to optimize scheduling availability and ensure scheduling accuracy. Collaborate with multiple scheduling groups to ensure patient exam urgency is of the utmost importance, to ensure patient safety and to maximize patient satisfaction. Process time-off requests and payroll for employees. Find innovative solutions to optimize service to all internal and external customers based on schedule availability and exam urgency. Schedule specialized exams and procedures by coordinating with Radiologists, Technologists, and Interventional Radiology schedules. Quality assurance of scheduled appointments, within modality guidelines. Advises staff of errors and coaches them regarding corrections. Work closely with EPIC and Radiant representatives on hardware and software scheduling issues and suggest system improvements and enhancements to optimize department function, where available. Troubleshoot and improve processes and procedures as department policies change and/or new resources become available. Offer guidance and information to Radiology administration for process improvements within EPIC Radiant to enhance patients, services and workflows.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree with two years relevant experience preferably in a health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ability to management multiple priorities, excellent communication and computer skills. Must be able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical scheduling experience preferred. Supervisory/Leadership experience preferred.
Work Days:
40 hrs/week; Specific days/hours to be determined. May be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs.
