Job Summary:
Administers care that is individualized and is consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice (Reports to RN any change in patient condition, administers medications, functions independently, within area of practice); Demonstrates clinical skills for work area (completes unit specific skills/competencies; Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care; Incorporates patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under the direction of the RN; Adjusts work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions; Fosters team building spirit (assist new staff members integration into the team; Contributes to plan of care, as well as implementation of plan; Maintains a safe working environment; Fosters a positive public relations with patients, families and staff. Medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKG's, hands on nursing care and some heavy lifting required. Current CPR, 1 year post licensure nursing experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pediatric and or Ambulatory Experience preferred.
Work Days:
M-F 8-4:30 No weekends or holidays.
