Job Summary: LPN Surgical Scheduler schedules patients for surgical procedures, schedules medical clearances, obtains insurance authorization, and provides patients with pre-operative instructions under the direction of the physician or advanced practitioner.
1. Schedules appropriate procedures/surgeries per providers order and knowledge of operating room scheduling policies and procedures. Will need to coordinate co-surgeries with multiple providers and surgical assistants as necessary.
2. Reviews pretesting diagnostic tests for abnormal results and notifies the surgeon, advanced practitioners, primary care, and care team. Ensures proper follow up testing is ordered and completed as necessary.
3. Obtains insurance authorizations for medical procedures and completes medical disability forms.
4. Participates in multidisciplinary teams including clinical and administrative staff to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
5. Answers patient questions related to surgery scheduling via telephone and EMR.
6. Serves as a liaison between the surgeon and the patients. Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered LPN. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year experience in ambulatory clinical setting.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
