SUNY Upstate Medical University’s mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care.  This goes beyond our downtown campus with all of our clinics and offices that provide patient care throughout the greater Syracuse area.  As the largest employer and care provider in the area, it means that we receive and deliver a significant amount of mail in support of patient care, the Upstate Foundation, and academic research.  With this in mind, we are looking for new Mail Room Assistant (Office Assistant Mail/Stores/Clerk 1) to join our Supply Chain Team!  This role is vital to ensuring that everyone receives the best care possible.  Can you help us?  Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Sort incoming and interdepartmental mail using the mail sorting machine
  • Deliver mail and small packages within the hospitals and to 25+ locations throughout Onondaga Count
  • Expertly process certified, express and special mailings
  • Provide outstanding customer service

How can you become a Mail Room Assistant at SUNY Upstate?  It’s easy!  There are no specific education or experience requirements for these positions, although you will need a NYS Driver’s License.  So please complete an application today!  In return for your dedication and commitment to provide outstanding service, you’ll receive:

  • a work schedule of 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays off)
  • a generous Paid Time Off program that includes vacation, holidays, and sick days
  • a choice of several outstanding health insurance benefits
  • Well-being plans that include Adoption Assistance, Student Loan Relief Services, Tuition Reimbursement, and an Employee Assistance Program
  • A New York State Pension, (Yes!  An actual pension!) a 403b plan with matching, and other retirement savings plans

Please apply today and help us to help the people of Central New York, and thank you!
