Job Summary:
Perform various automated, semi-automated and manual procedures as defined by the Core Laboratory manual (encompasses all facets of Chemistry/Hematology workstations as deemed by supervisor.) Perform routine Hematology and Chemistry testing following established policies and procedures. Performs appropriate related tasks in the laboratory including QC, PM, Calibration and quality assurance. Maintain records of testing including patient results, proficiency testing, quality control, instrument calibrations, inventory, pending logs and preventive maintenance procedures. Interacting with providers to give test results, discuss results and discuss laboratory procedures. Resolving problems in testing, procedures, or processes relating to the laboratory.
Minimum Qualifications:
Clinical Laboratory Technologist NYS license or limited permit to practice and two years of clinical lab experience required. *Candidates with less than two years clinical laboratory experience or with a NYS license or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory testing.
