Job Summary:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Therapy Aide is responsible in a support role for the care and treatment of
psychiatric patients. The Mental Health Therapy Aide functions as a participating member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and
assists in the implementation of treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program, during this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Mental Health Therapy Aide, SG09 title.

For consideration for this title, you must meet all of the following minimum qualifications:

1: Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma (such as a GED)

Preferred Qualifications:

Have one (1) year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a mental health setting.

Work Days:

8 hour night shift- every other weekend and some holidays
