Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider will serve in a part-time role to provide care to patients on the Ortho Trauma service at the SUNY Upstate Downtown campus. There will be a small component of first-assisting on surgical cases and procedures. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner, with a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).
CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years orthopedic surgery experience.
Work Days:
Saturday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
