Job Summary:
Nurse Practitioner-Psychiatry Provider will be responsible and dedicated to providing high quality of care to a diverse outpatient population of children and adolescents and their families and the community through assessment, planning, prescribing and evaluation interventions. Provides psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services and routine medical evaluation and treatment for patients. Coordinate care with schools and community agencies. Provide consultation to primary care providers and other clinics. Work in a multi-disciplinary setting that includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists and clinical social workers that services some of the highest risk patients in the community and surrounding areas. Must excel in providing patient-centered care by obtaining referrals into additional programs to support the patient's recovery.
As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, one will be responsible to demonstrate professionalism and leadership within the institution, exemplifying the Upstate mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner requires Master's Degree & current National Certification through AANP or ANCC. NYS licensed/registered NP specialty area of Psychiatric required. NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).
CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a psychiatry setting and American Nurses Association certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred.
