Job Summary:

Schedule based on 40 hour week. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM-4:30 PM. Duties include but are not limited to: Data-basing, e-filing, managing incoming forms and outgoing releases of information. The individual will also provide support to the office functioning as a front window receptionist, handling telephone communication, and performing miscellaneous general clerical tasks (e.g. creating new medical charts, filing, processing and delivering departmental mail, chart preparation and labeling, answering phones, and other duties as assigned). Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and familiarity of medical terminology preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.
