Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a highly driven recent graduate to join a research laboratory in the Department of Neuroscience & Physiology. The applicant will provide technical support for a laboratory specialized in brain cancer. Instructions and the design of experiments will be provided by senior lab members. The individual will work independently and keep detailed notes of experimental procedures and findings. Duties will include performing experiments, data analysis, record keeping, collection of clinical specimens, administrative support, and laboratory maintenance. Potential techniques include tissue processing, cancer cell culture, microscopy, rodent surgeries, and molecular techniques to analyze DNA, RNA and proteins. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills are required. Must be good at time management and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior experience working in a research laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, or neuroscience. Experience in molecular biology techniques. Demonstrable experience or skills in organization and maintenance tasks. 

Work Days:

Weekdays and as needed
