Job Summary:
- Problem solves research challenges and model development, as applicable.
- Contribute discrete components of a larger project under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher.
- Prepare complete documentation of research activities for reference purposes, including following applicable data management protocols.
- Analyze, interpret, and document research findings for review.
- Compare actual and expected results and suggest solutions to correct the deviations.
- Evaluate existing research or modeling techniques and recommend improvements to ensure quality and productivity.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Design and execute clinical outcomes studies in transplantation (kidney, pancreas, and related areas).
- Utilize institutional clinical datasets and national databases (e.g., UNOS, SRTR, NSQIP).
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, management, and advanced statistical analysis.
- Collaborate with internal partners (transplant surgery, nephrology, hepatology, anesthesia, biostatistics, epidemiology) and external collaborators at other academic centers and national research groups.
- Coordinate multi-institutional research projects and contribute to collaborative study design.
- Mentor and work closely with residents and medical students on research projects.
- Prepare and submit abstracts to regional and national scientific meetings.
- Lead and contribute to manuscript writing for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in IRB submissions, data use agreements, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the development and writing of grant applications, including institutional, foundation, and federal funding mechanisms.
- Contribute to identifying novel research questions related to transplant outcomes, quality improvement, equity, and innovation
