Job Summary:

Serves as shift supervisor/dispatcher for Centralized Patient Transport on the evening shift. Provides leadership, direction and support to the Central Transport staff to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to the transport of patients. Dispatches transporters for patient movement, ensuring the transportation team is performing to protocol, addressing concerns promptly, scheduling job assignments when and where necessary.  Assists in the training of new members of the Transport team. Completes surveys with members of the clinical team and patients to ensure the Transport team is providing an excellent service, and promptly follows up on any concerns. The dispatcher will also be responsible for completing assessments to ensure all procedures are being followed. Transports patients following all policies and procedures when needed.  The Centralized Patient Transport Shift Supervisor/Dispatcher exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience plus excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and customer service and computer skills required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. Prior experience working with patient transport delivery systems and in a leadership or supervisory capacity strongly preferred.  

Work Days:

Monday-Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Occasional coverage for other shifts may be required.
