Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently accepting applications for a Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in pediatric feeding disorders (e.g., food selectivity). We have openings in the following settings:
- Outpatient Feeding Clinic – Golisano Center for Special Needs
- Provide services in an outpatient setting within our specialized feeding clinic.
- Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment and treatment of children (infants to 17 years) diagnosed with feeding disorders such as Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) or similar conditions.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit – Upstate Medical University
- Deliver evaluation and treatment services for children with dual diagnoses (e.g., autism spectrum disorder and co-occurring conditions).
- Responsibilities include reviewing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conducting assessments, and developing communication-focused treatment plans and goals.
The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for direct patient care including assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive disorders covering the spectrum of inpatient diagnoses including stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorder, and related disorders; and services for speech, language, and swallowing in a medically based practice; pediatric to geriatric patient populations. Collaborate with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences. Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional health care personnel. Participate in training for new staff. Serve as a clinical instructor for students. Facilitate new program development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of clinical fellowship year required. BLS-CPR certification required by time of appointment.

Monday - Friday, Day hours with primary shift; Will work rotating weekends and holidays.
