The Fellow will select a 'home base' that aligns with the Fellow's career aspirations. The Health Science Library (HSL) is particularly interested in candidates whose professional goals are consistent with current Library priorities in the areas of: archives & special collections, assessment, community engagement, discovery services, instruction & outreach, and resource management. The Fellow will lead projects that meaningfully contribute to The Health Science Library operations and services and is encouraged to take advantage of project-related presentation and publication opportunities. The Fellow will engage in an extensive on-boarding experience designed to promote familiarity with the full spectrum of The Health Science Library operational and service commitments. The Fellow will participate on Library and University committees, such as Diversity Council, faculty governance, search committees, etc. The Health Science Library encourages participation in professional associations.
ALA accredited Master's degree in library information science or a commensurate degree required. Candidates shall have a demonstrated commitment to inclusive conduct and multi-cultural skills, contributing to an inclusive workplace in which individuals of a broad range of cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives can fully participate and work productively and creatively together. Must have the ability to: work creatively and collaboratively; build and sustain relationships; partner with our service community; and have excellent communication skills. Candidates must have a general knowledge of literature searching, print and digital resources through coursework, professional experience is expected. Be committed to working with clinicians, faculty, students, patients and family members at an Academic Health Sciences Center.
