Job Summary: The Surgical Scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance information is collected for the surgery. Position requires utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries per providers orders. The Surgical Scheduler must schedule surgery center and hospital procedures consistent with the patients diagnosis, procedure request and established scheduling policies and procedures. Also requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. The Surgical Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. Individual must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy. Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and two years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment. Must include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years of experience in healthcare surgical scheduling preferred.
Expertise with EPIC and/or OpTime preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
