Job Summary: The AEMT and Outreach EMT Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and teaching the organizations Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program and coordinating outreach EMT programs delivered through EMS Education. This position supports consistent course delivery, instructional quality, student progression, skills evaluation, course documentation, and compliance with NYS DOH Bureau of EMS requirements.
The Coordinator serves as the lead instructional contact for the AEMT program and supports outreach EMT course operations, including course scheduling, instructor communication, student support, skills labs, equipment coordination, and course completion processes. The Coordinator is also available to provide instructional coverage for EMT didactic or lab sessions as needed.
This role works collaboratively with EMS Education leadership, Certified Instructor Coordinators, Certified Lab Instructors, EMS Programs Assistant, administrative staff, agency partners, and instructional personnel to ensure assigned courses are delivered consistently and professionally without duplicating administrative support functions assigned to the EMS Programs Assistant. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current New York State AEMT certification or higher
  • Current New York State Certified Instructor Coordinator credential with ALS endorsement, or ability to obtain required credentialing as approved by program leadership
  • Associate degree from an accredited institution; Bachelors degree preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS instructor certification
  • Minimum of five years of clinical prehospital care experience
  • Minimum of two years of EMS teaching, precepting, instructional coordination, or related EMS education experience
  • Demonstrated experience with classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, skills evaluation, student feedback, course documentation, and EMS education program support
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current New York State Paramedic certification
  • National Registry certification at or above the level of instruction assigned
  • NAEMT PHTLS and AMLS instructor certifications
  • Advanced Burn Life Support certification or instructor certification
  • Experience coordinating AEMT, EMT, continuing education, outreach, or agency-based EMS education programs
  • Experience with simulation-based education, competency-based evaluation, remediation, curriculum development, course documentation oversight, and EMS program quality improvement

L1: $60,406 - $88,500

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
