Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Deputy Associate Director of Nursing for Upstate Cancer Center, the Assistant Director of Nursing assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, organizing and overseeing the downtown cancer center departments reporting through Upstate Cancer Center. Specific duties include management and evaluation of clinical operations, customer and staff satisfaction, quality management, standards, certification and accreditation activities, professional practice activities, nursing staff education, and developing community relationships. 

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing required. Minimum of 5 years relevant post RN licensure experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting to include 2 years of nursing management/supervisory experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, leadership, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred. Oncology experience preferred. Oncology or Nursing Executive certification preferred.
