Job Summary:

The Assistant Vice President of Support Services reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and serves as the healthcare system's leader for Supply Chain, Environmental Services, Food Service, and the Leased Properties division. The position provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for these areas, overseeing procurement, logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, space utilization, and the delivery of support services across the clinical enterprise. The AVP of Support Services ensures efficient business operations, resource management, and infrastructure support necessary for delivering quality patient care and organizational growth. Working collaboratively with Legal, Finance, AVP for Facilities and Planning, and external partners and vendors, the role supports organizational expansion, property acquisitions, and operational efficiency initiatives. This role will be integral in leading efforts to ensure that support service areas optimize resources, maintain regulatory compliance, meet quality metrics, and leads in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to achieve the healthcare system's operational and strategic objectives. Additionally, the AVP serves as the primary liaison with campus leadership regarding parking operations and other shared operational functions between the hospital and campus, ensuring effective coordination, collaboration, and alignment of mutual operational priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related health care field required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a healthcare environment with a working knowledge of management principles, healthcare planning, finance, reimbursement, and human resource development and management. Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical and written/oral communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred. Experience working in an academic medical center or teaching hospital preferred. Experience in the public sector and in a unionized environment is preferred.
